For newsrooms and local channels
Local News & Online TV Channels
Run your own newscast online: go live, keep every edition and show it on your own site.
A local newsroom or a reporter with a regular programme needs a dependable way to go live, an archive that viewers can find the next morning and a player that sits on the channel's own website. DCAST is built for channels that broadcast their own material.
Live
From a studio encoder or a phone
Archive
Every edition on the same link
Player
On the channel's own website
What you get
Local newsrooms, independent reporters, regional and community TV channels and programme makers who produce their own content
From the studio or from the street
Send the newscast from your studio encoder over RTMP or SRT, or go live from the browser of a phone for a field report, with no encoder to install.
Every edition becomes a replay
A standard broadcast is recorded automatically, and the replay opens on the same link after the live ends. Viewers who watch the evening edition the next morning use the link you already shared.
A picture that fits every connection
The broadcast reaches viewers in several quality levels, so a viewer on slow mobile data can watch without constant pauses while a viewer on a good connection gets the best picture.
Where your viewers already are
Send one broadcast on to YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitch, Kick or a custom address, and place the player on the channel's own website with a short embed code, so readers of your articles watch without leaving the page. Your creator site gives the channel an address of its own for broadcasts and videos.
Know the limit before the first edition
On the FREE plan a single broadcast runs for one hour from Start. A long edition can exceed it: buy a one-off pass for that broadcast, which gives it STAR limits for a set number of hours from payment with no subscription, or choose a plan. The pricing page shows the current amounts and limits.
How it works
Give the channel a home
Set up your creator site with a short name that is easy to say aloud, and decide where the player will sit on your own website.
Connect the studio and test
Create the broadcast, connect your encoder and run a short private test at the same hour as the newscast.
Go live on a fixed schedule
Go live at the same time on the same days, because viewers watch local news out of habit. Plan each edition for its real length.
Keep the archive in order
After Stop the recording becomes the replay on the same link. Give every edition a date and a clear title so viewers can find it.
