Live streaming
Connect OBS to your stream
Copy your stream key and server address into OBS so video flows from your computer to DCAST.
Before you start
- You have already created a stream in DCAST.
- OBS Studio (or another encoder) is installed on your computer.
- Your internet upload speed is at least 5 Mbps for a standard quality stream.
Steps
- 1Open your stream in DCAST and find the encoder connection section.
- 2Copy the Server URL (it looks like rtmp://...).
- 3Copy the Stream Key — keep this private, it gives access to your stream.
- 4Open OBS and go to Settings → Stream.
- 5Set Service to Custom.
- 6Paste the Server URL into the Server field.
- 7Paste the Stream Key into the Stream Key field.
- 8Click Apply and then OK.
- 9Back in OBS, click Start Streaming.
- 10Return to DCAST — within a few seconds you should see a live preview.
Expected result
DCAST shows an active incoming signal. The watch page displays your live video.
Common problems
OBS says it is streaming but DCAST shows no signal.
Double-check the Server URL and Stream Key — no extra spaces or missing characters.
The stream keeps dropping.
Lower the video bitrate in OBS (try 3000 kbps instead of 6000) and use a wired connection.
Audio works but no video appears.
In OBS, make sure a video source (camera, screen, or media) is active in the current scene.
