Live streaming

End a stream and share the replay

Stop your broadcast cleanly and let viewers watch the recording on demand.

Before you start

  • Your stream is live or has just ended.
  • Recording is enabled for the stream (check the stream settings before going live).

Steps

  1. 1When the event is finished, stop streaming in OBS or your encoder.
  2. 2Return to DCAST and open the stream page.
  3. 3The stream status changes to Ended.
  4. 4Wait a few minutes — DCAST prepares the replay automatically from the recorded segments.
  5. 5Refresh the stream page. When the replay is ready, the watch page will show a playable video.
  6. 6The original watch link still works — viewers open the same URL to watch the replay.
  7. 7You can share the link exactly as you did during the live broadcast.

Expected result

Viewers who open the watch link after the broadcast see the recorded replay, not a "stream offline" message.

Common problems

The replay is not ready yet.

Wait 5–10 minutes after the stream ends and refresh the page.

Recording was not captured.

Make sure recording was turned on in stream settings before you went live — it cannot be added after.

The replay is only visible to me.

Check the stream visibility setting and confirm it is not set to Private.
