How the timestamp converter works
Type a value in any of the three fields (seconds, HH:MM:SS, or SRT time 00:00:00,000). The other two update in real time. Use this for subtitle timing, video editing, or converting duration for schema and APIs. For shifting whole subtitle files, use the subtitle shifter.
- Q:What is SRT time format?
- A:SRT uses timestamps like 00:00:01,000 (hours:minutes:seconds, milliseconds). VTT uses a dot instead of a comma. This converter translates between total seconds, HH:MM:SS, and SRT-style time so you can use the same value in different tools or subtitles.
- Q:What is ISO 8601 duration?
- A:ISO 8601 duration format (e.g. PT1H30M45S) is used in schema.org and many APIs for video duration. The converter shows the equivalent duration string for the time you enter.
