Enable two-factor authentication

Add a second layer of protection so only you can sign in, even if someone knows your password.

Before you start

  • You have an authenticator app on your phone (Google Authenticator or Authy work well — both are free).

Steps

  1. 1Open Settings → Security.
  2. 2Find Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) and click Enable.
  3. 3A QR code appears on screen.
  4. 4Open your authenticator app and tap the + or Add Account button.
  5. 5Scan the QR code with your phone camera.
  6. 6The app generates a 6-digit code that changes every 30 seconds.
  7. 7Enter the current 6-digit code into DCAST and click Verify.
  8. 8Save the backup codes shown — store them somewhere safe (not on your phone only).
  9. 92FA is now active.

Expected result

Every sign-in now requires both your password and the 6-digit code from your phone.

Common problems

The QR code scan does not work.

Use the manual entry option — most authenticator apps let you type the code shown below the QR image.

The verification code is rejected.

Make sure the time on your phone is accurate. Authenticator apps rely on the clock being correct.

I lost my phone and cannot sign in.

Use one of your saved backup codes to sign in, then disable and re-enable 2FA with your new device.
