Enable two-factor authentication

Add a second layer of protection so only you can sign in, even if someone knows your password.

You have an authenticator app on your phone (Google Authenticator or Authy work well — both are free).

Open Settings → Security.

The card is called Two-step verification — DCAST does not use the words "two-factor" on screen. Click Turn on.

A QR code appears on screen.

Open your authenticator app and tap the + or Add Account button.

Scan the QR code with your phone camera.

The app generates a 6-digit code that changes every 30 seconds.

Type the current 6-digit code into the Code from the app field and click Turn on two-step verification.

Save the Backup codes that appear — store them somewhere other than the phone itself.

2FA is now active.

Every sign-in now requires both your password and the 6-digit code from your phone.

Use the manual entry option — most authenticator apps let you type the code shown below the QR image.

Make sure the time on your phone is accurate. Authenticator apps rely on the clock being correct.

Use one of your saved backup codes to sign in, then disable and re-enable 2FA with your new device.
