Video on demand

Make a video paid, subscriber-only, or private

Decide exactly who can watch your video and whether they need to pay.

Before you start

  • Your video is in the library.
  • If you plan to sell access, your billing and monetization settings are already configured.

Steps

  1. 1Open the video and go to the Access or Monetization section.
  2. 2Choose Public to let everyone watch for free.
  3. 3Choose Link-only to let anyone with the direct URL watch.
  4. 4Choose Subscriber-only so only paying subscribers can watch.
  5. 5Choose a specific Tier to gate the video behind a subscription level.
  6. 6Choose Private if only you should be able to watch.
  7. 7Save the setting.
  8. 8Test the result: open the watch link in a private browser window and confirm the correct paywall or access screen appears.

Expected result

The watch page shows the access gate you chose. A visitor who does not qualify sees a prompt to subscribe or sign in.

Common problems

A free user can still watch a paid video.

Confirm the visibility is set to Subscriber-only or a Tier, not Public.

A subscriber cannot access the video.

Make sure the subscriber is signed in with the account that has the active subscription.

There is no option to set a price or tier.

Open the Monetization section in your account settings and complete the billing setup first.
