Video on demand

Add a title, description, and thumbnail

Make your video look professional with the right cover image and a description that tells viewers what to expect.

Before you start

  • Your video is in the library — processing does not need to be complete to edit details.
  • You have a thumbnail image ready (JPG or PNG, at least 1280×720 px looks best).

Steps

  1. 1Open Videos and click on your video.
  2. 2Click Edit or open the details panel.
  3. 3Update the title to something clear and descriptive.
  4. 4Add a description — a few sentences about what the video covers.
  5. 5To add a thumbnail, click Upload thumbnail and choose an image from your computer.
  6. 6Choose the visibility: Public, Link-only, Subscriber-only, or Private.
  7. 7Click Save.
  8. 8Open the watch page to see how it looks to viewers.

Expected result

The video listing and watch page show your updated title, description, and thumbnail.

Common problems

The thumbnail does not update right away.

Refresh the page — thumbnail processing takes a minute or two.

The edit was saved but viewers still see the old title.

Hard-refresh the watch page (Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows, Cmd+Shift+R on Mac).

The thumbnail image is rejected.

Make sure the file is JPG or PNG and smaller than 10 MB.
