Live streaming

Create your first live stream

Set up a new live stream from the dashboard and prepare it for publishing.

Before you start

  • You are signed in to your DCAST account.
  • You are on the dashboard.
  • You have a title and a rough idea of who should be able to watch.

Steps

  1. 1Open the dashboard and click Streams in the top navigation.
  2. 2Click Create Stream.
  3. 3Type a clear title for your broadcast — viewers will see this.
  4. 4Add an optional description so viewers know what to expect.
  5. 5Choose who can watch: Public, Link-only, Subscribers-only, or Private.
  6. 6Pick how you will send your video: RTMP (for OBS or hardware) or SRT.
  7. 7Click Save.
  8. 8Your new stream card appears in the list. Click it to open the stream details page.

Expected result

Your stream appears in the Streams list. It is ready to receive video from an encoder or a studio source.

Common problems

I cannot find the stream I just created.

Refresh the Streams page and make sure you are signed in to the same account.

The stream title is wrong.

Open the stream and click Settings to update the title at any time before or after the broadcast.

I chose the wrong visibility.

Open stream Settings and change the visibility before you share the link.
