Live streaming

Check your stream quality during a broadcast

Spot problems before your audience does — monitor video, audio, and bitrate in real time.

Before you start

  • Your stream is live and receiving video.
  • You have access to the stream page in the dashboard.
  • You can adjust your encoder settings if needed.

Steps

  1. 1Open the stream page while you are live.
  2. 2Look at the preview thumbnail — it should be updating.
  3. 3Check the incoming bitrate indicator. A steady number is healthy; spikes or zeros indicate problems.
  4. 4Open the watch link in a second browser tab or on your phone.
  5. 5Press play and check that video and audio both work for viewers.
  6. 6Listen for distortion or stuttering.
  7. 7If you see buffering, lower your encoder bitrate by 20–30% and try again.

Expected result

You can see the live preview and confirm that viewers get a smooth, uninterrupted stream.

Common problems

The stream buffers every few seconds.

Reduce your encoder bitrate, close other upload-heavy apps, and switch to a wired connection.

The preview thumbnail is frozen.

Check whether OBS is still sending — look for the red blinking light in OBS.

Audio is fine but video looks blurry.

Increase video bitrate or resolution in your encoder settings.
