Read your notifications
Find the bell, open the full list, and act on what DCAST is telling you.
Before you start
- You are signed in to your DCAST account.
Steps
- 1Look at the bell in the top bar. A red badge on it counts your unread notifications, up to nine plus.
- 2Click the bell. The drop-down lists your unread notifications, the newest first.
- 3Click a notification to open what it is about — the payment, the video, the ticket. Opening it also marks it as read.
- 4Open the full page for everything, including what you already read: go to Notifications from the account menu.
- 5Every entry carries a coloured category tag: Security, Payment, Subscription, Content, Social or System.
- 6Unread entries are highlighted with a coloured edge and a dot, so they stand out from the rest.
- 7Use the pages at the bottom of the list to go further back in time.
Expected result
You have seen every notification waiting for you, and the badge on the bell reflects what is genuinely still unread.
Common problems
The bell shows a number but the drop-down is empty.
The drop-down only holds unread notifications. Open the full Notifications page to see everything.
The count does not go down after I read something.
The count refreshes on its own about every half minute. Reload the page if it still disagrees with the list.
A notification opens nothing when I click it.
Not every message points somewhere — some are pure information. It is still marked as read.
