Filter and clean up your notifications

Narrow the list down to what matters and remove what you have already handled.

Before you start

  • You are on the Notifications page.
  • You are on the tab that lists your notifications.

Steps

  1. 1
Open the category selector above the list and pick one category — Security, Payment, Subscription, Content, Social or System — to see only those.
  2. 2
Choose All Categories in the same selector to go back to the whole list.
  3. 3
Click Unread Only to hide everything you have already read. Click it again to bring them back.
  4. 4
Changing either filter takes you back to the first page of results.
  5. 5
Click the button that marks everything as read when you have gone through them — the badge on the bell drops to zero.
  6. 6
Remove a single entry with the bin icon on its right-hand side.
  7. 7
Use Delete Read to remove everything you already read at once. A confirmation box asks first, and unread entries are not touched.

Expected result

The list shows only what you still need, and the bell badge matches what is genuinely unread.

Common problems

The list looks empty after I filtered it.

A category filter and Unread Only stack on top of each other. Set the category back to All Categories and turn Unread Only off.

I deleted a notification I still needed.

Deleting is final. The thing behind it is not lost, though — the payment, video or ticket is still in its own section.

Delete Read did nothing.

It only removes notifications marked as read. If everything is unread, mark them as read first.
