Platform analytics
Understand the analytics dashboard
Navigate the overview and know what each number means so you can act on the data.
Before you start
- You have published at least one stream or video.
- You are signed in to DCAST and have access to the Analytics section.
Steps
- 1Open the dashboard and click Analytics in the top navigation.
- 2The overview shows key numbers: total views, watch time, unique viewers, and top content.
- 3The date selector at the top lets you filter by today, last 7 days, last 30 days, or a custom range.
- 4Scroll down to see a chart of views over time — peaks usually match your broadcast dates.
- 5Look at Top Content to see which streams or videos got the most viewers.
- 6Check the Geography section if it appears — it shows where your audience is located.
- 7Use the tabs or filters to switch between Stream analytics and Video analytics.
Expected result
You can read the key metrics and identify which content attracted the most viewers.
Common problems
The dashboard shows all zeros.
Analytics take a few minutes to update after a stream ends. Try again after 10 minutes.
The numbers look lower than expected.
Check the date range — it may be set to "Today" when you want "Last 30 days".
I cannot find Analytics in the navigation.
Make sure you are on the creator dashboard, not the viewer profile page.
